It had been a tricky start to the new Lamborghini’s debut campaign with the Temerario languishing towards the rear of the field in multiple categories. But the car had continually been edging closer to the front and Grasser Racing Team driver Bortolotti was able to use an excellent strategy to take the landmark win at Oschersleben, his first success in the series for almost two years. Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo pilot Thomas Preining started the race from pole and fended off an attack from Luca Engstler at the wheel of another ABT-run Temerario through the first corners. Audi crews dominated last weekend’s fourth round of the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS season at Hidden Valley Raceway as Broc Feeney and Brad Schumacher moved back into the points lead with two events remaining. Feeney and Schumacher followed up fourth in Saturday’s opener with a second win of the year on Sunday, their first since the Phillip Island season opener, at the wheel of their Melbourne Performance Centre-run No. 1 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II. That made it two wins from two for the venerable R8 as Team BRM pair Mark Rosser and Alex Peroni opened their win account for 2026 in the first race. Johnny Kaminskey (Ferrari of Long Island) and Michael Mathes (Ferrari of Central New Jersey) led flag-to-flag in their respective classes to capture the first wins of the weekend around the 2.52-mile circuit. For Kaminskey – the Trofeo Pirelli championship leader – the young driver has won at each racetrack thus far in 2026, and Saturday’s win was his sixth of the year to extend his points lead. Ferrari of San Francisco teammates Brad Fauvre and George Grinzewitsch III finished second and third, respectively. In Trofeo Pirelli Am, Mathes burst back onto the scene with his third win in five races. The programs bring together Ferrari clients from around the world, offering exclusive opportunities of driving cars on track that have made history for the Maranello marque, with the support of Ferrari technicians and professional drivers. The 2027 season will get underway at The Thermal Club and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California before continuing in Asia and Europe, with stops at Fuji Speedway (Japan), Zandvoort (The Netherlands), Le Castellet (France), Mugello (Italy) and Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium). Photo: Max van der Snel FB European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup LMP3 driver Max van der Snel will make his IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut next weekend at Road America, having been confirmed as the third driver in the returning Intersport Racing effort. The 22-year-old Dutchman will join full season drivers Jon Field and Oliver Jarvis at the wheel of the team’s Oreca 07 Gibson, which missed the most recent LMP2 round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Van der Snel replaces Seth Lucas in the lineup, with Lucas having previously been confirmed for the full Michelin Endurance Cup season. A reason for the change is not clear at this time, although van der Snel took part in a recent test with the Field-owned team at Road America ahead of his LMP2 debut. Having held a sizeable advantage as recently as three weeks ago, Toyota has experienced the full force of BMW’s fightback. Aided by a pair of weekend sweeps, the two-time defending champion rapidly transformed a 122-point deficit into an 11-point advantage. Toyota has subsequently edged back in front, but only by the narrowest of margins. This sets up a fierce battle between the Supra and the M4 during the second half of the campaign, with little to choose between the title-chasing manufacturers. The recent run of races began on June 13-14 with action from Monochrome GT4 Australia and Pirelli GT4 America.
