Genesis Magma Racing has confirmed it will go into its second FIA World Endurance Championship season with an unchanged roster of six drivers across its two Hypercars.

The Hyundai-owned marque revealed on Monday that Andre Lotterer, Pipo Derani, Mathys Jaubert, Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin and Daniel Juncadella will all continue to pilot its pair of GMR-001s next year, with exact crews to be determined.

Juncadella was already confirmed after being given a standalone announcement on Saturday on the eve of the 6 Hours of Barcelona, his home race.

All six drivers were understood to have been on two-year contracts.

Team principal Cyril Abiteboul commented: “Continuity is essential at this stage of our program. Our drivers have built valuable knowledge of the GMR-001 Hypercar and strong working relationships with our technical team. They have also developed a positive dynamic and genuinely enjoy working together.

“Retaining the same line-up allows us to carry this experience and team spirit into 2027, continue developing the car efficiently and take further steps towards scoring points with both cars at every race.”

Genesis reached a significant milestone last weekend as it secured its first pole position courtesy of Jaubert in the No. 17 car, although the Korean marque was unable to translate its strong grid positions, with the sister No. 19 car starting third, into points.

Its best finish of its maiden WEC campaign remains the seventh-place finish scored by Jaubert, Lotterer and Derani at the Circuit of The Americas last month.

GMR sporting director Gabriele Tarquini said: “Our drivers understand the car, our working methods and what we need to improve.

“They work very well together and have built a strong relationship with the entire team, so we are very pleased to continue with this group next season.

“Securing our first pole position in Barcelona was an important milestone and demonstrated how far we have come together in our debut season. We believe this group has the experience and potential to go even further.

“With the same drivers, we can build on these strong foundations, unlock further performance from the GMR-001 and fight regularly for points in 2027.”
