McCall Inherits DHL Class Win After Tait Penalty

Brad McCall has inherited the Dark Horse Legends class victory in Sunday’s Mustang Challenge North America season finale at Circuit of The Americas following a post-race penalty for Tom Tait.

Tait who initially took the win in the No. 8 Wheelhouse Motorsports Ford Mustang Dark Horse R, was handed a 30-second post-race time infraction for incident responsibility after contact was made with the No. 9 Paley Motorsport with AAG entry of Chris Clarke while battling on the last lap.

The two cars collided after a fierce back-and-forth battle in the closing moments of the 45-minute contest, which sent Clarke into the barriers and out of the race.

It marked the a class win on debut weekend for McCall, the Round 3 Racing team owner.

Tait dropped to a third place class result, also behind the No. 84 Torre Racing entry of Paolo Salvatore, but it was still enough for him to claim the class title.

Devin Anderson won the race outright in the No. 22 TechSport Racing Mustang, while a second place result for Cole Loftsgard gave the Round 3 driver to claim the Dark Horse championship title.
