Porsche factory driver Julien Andlauer will make a second LMP2 appearance of the year after being announced as joining DKR Engineering’s lineup for the European Le Mans Series’ 4 Hours of Spa event later this month.
Andlauer made a return to the LMP2 class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year when he tackled the race aboard a Duqueine Team Oreca 07 Gibson and looked on course for victory until a late brake failure.
Now the Porsche Penske Motorsport regular is due to become the third different driver to partner Jean Glorieux and Marlon Hernandez this year in the No. 3 DKR Pro-Am class Oreca for the Spa contest on Aug. 23.
The Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo is another car featuring a refreshed lineup for the Belgian event with WRT BMW FIA World Endurance Championship drivers Parker Thompson and Anthony McIntosh taking the place of Clement Mateu and Valentin Haase-Clot in the No. 59 machine.
While Mateu has suffered from a lack of budget, Haase-Clot will be prioritizing the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, with the GTD classes in action at Virginia International Raceway on the same weekend.
Instead it will mark McIntosh’s first appearance in an Aston since driving for the team in the Bahrain WEC finale last year, while Thompson has never previously raced a Vantage.
Harry King is another driver absent for Spa due to the WeatherTech Championship clash, with his place in the No. 77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo being taken by two-time ELMS champion Alessio Picariello.
It has also been confirmed that Martin Berry will complete the rest of the season in that car after ‘Bankcy’ injured his back in a British GT incident at Spa earlier this year.
The only other change on the 47-strong entry list for Spa is in the LMP3 division where Alfie Briggs will be joining Thomas Imbourg and Nick Adcock in the No. 68 M Racing Ligier JS P325 Toyota after they contested the previous round at Imola as a duo.
