Conquest Racing has drafted in Fran Rueda to complete the team’s lineup for next weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.
The FIA Silver-rated driver will join full season pilot Albert Costa and the team’s former IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup driver, Lorenzo Patrese, who has stepped into a season-long seat as Manny Franco takes a pause from GTD competition.
It will mark Rueda’s IMSA debut although the 29-year-old Spaniard boasts previous experience and success in Ferrari 296 GT3 machinery.
“This is an incredible opportunity and I’m really excited to join everyone at Conquest,” said Rueda. “I have been beyond impressed with both the preparation and presentation of the team, and this looks to be a weekend where we truly can fight for victory.
“Working with Albert and Lorenzo makes this a very easy program for me to join, and it couldn’t have been made possible without the incredible support of the program that Manny Franco and Eric Bachelart have provided.”
Costa added: “This team continues to go from strength to strength, and adding Fran will only increase that.
Hopefully all of the bad luck is behind us and we can focus ahead on winning a championship.”
Patrese, meanwhile, will prioritize Watkins Glen over his GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS commitments with Kessel Racing, amid next weekend’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.
