GetSpeed Team PCX Clinch Pole for 12H Paul Ricard

GetSpeed Team PCX Racing clinched a hard-fought pole position for the Michelin 12H Paul Ricard.
The No. 28 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo which is driven by Maro Engel, Patrick Charlaix, Jordan Boisson and Benjamin Paque set a fastest combined lap time of 2:01.657.
Engel set the fastest overall time of the session, smashing the record for the Michelin 24H Series at the circuit. The veteran Mercedes-AMG factory driver produced a rapid 2:00.652 lap time.
The PCX Racing machine finished the session 0.203 seconds ahead of the No. 93 Ajith RedAnt Racing Mercedes-AMG.
The pole sitting No. 28 car is currently tied for the championship lead with the Ajith RedAnt squad and its sister GetSpeed Team JR286 entry.
Sainteloc Junior Team’s No. 18 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II finished the session in third place after displaying strong pace early on in the three GT3 qualifying sessions.
The French squad sits a mere two points behind the championship leaders thanks to a win at Mugello earlier in the year.
Reigning teams’ champions Proton Competition completed the second row with its Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo. Porsche-contracted driver Joel Sturm set the second fastest time of the session, 0.173 seconds behind Engel’s time.
The No. 2 HAAS RT Audi rounded out the top five in qualifying ahead of the HOFOR Racing Mercedes-AMG which claimed the GT3-Am pole position.
Title rivals GetSpeed Team JR286 finished in seventh place.
Consistent laps by teammates Jake Hill and Ryan Dalziel saw the No. 81 Era Motorsport car propelled up the order to eighth place. The team is debuting its Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo at this weekend’s event.
Series regulars E2P Racing finished the session in ninth in its Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.
HAAS RT’s second entry, the No. 21 Audi, crossed the line in tenth place.
In 992, Red Camel-Jordans.nl took class pole position ahead of the championship leading No. 921 Mühlner Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
The top spot in the 992-Am class went to the No. 928 HRT Performance entry.
Not Only Motorsport sailed to TCE-TCX class pole with its Ligier JS2 R.
GT4 class pole went to Circuit Toys’ Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, while Vortex topped the GTX class. Both teams are the only cars entered in their respective classes for this weekend.
