Nolasport’s Leist Sets Pace in Sebring Practice

Matheus Leist set the pace in practice for Rounds 4 and 5 of Pirelli GT4 America at Sebring International Raceway, clocking the fastest overall time across both sessions in his No. 47 Nolasport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Leist set a 2:11.075 lap time in the Porsche that he shares with Matt Travis, heading the time sheets in the second practice session.

The FIA Gold-rated driver set the chart-topping time in the opening minutes of the Friday morning session.

His Pro-Am entry was 0.059 seconds ahead of Luca Mars in the No. 028 RS1 Porsche, which was second quickest overall and fastest in the Silver class with a 2:11.134 lap time.

The Nolasport squad most recently scored a second place overall in the Lone Star Enduro at Circuit of the Americas in April.

Tyler McQuarrie was third quickest overall and second fastest in the Pro-Am class in the No. 38 BimmerWorld BMW that he drives alongside Michael Petramalo.

The ACI Motorsports Porsche rounded out the top four with a 2:11.270 lap time from Yves Baltas.

Most of the fastest times were set in the second practice session of the weekend.

Kevin Boehm managed a 2:11.392 lap time to top the first practice on Thursday afternoon, but this was only fast enough for fifth place in the combined leaderboard.

The No. 413 Colorado Motorsports by Flying Lizard BMW of Kris Wilson headed the times in the Am class.

Both 45-minute sessions were uninterrupted with constant green flag running.

Qualifying will take place on Friday at 2:10 p.m. EST, ahead of the start of Race 1 at 5:40 p.m. EST. Race 2 will commence at 12:45 p.m. EST on Saturday.

Both 60-minute races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and will be part of FS1’s highlights package which airs Sun. May 17 at 6:30 a.m. EST.
