A total of 21 cars are set for next weekend’s Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic, in the second and final IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship street race of the season.
Next Saturday’s 100-minute sprint race on the downtown Detroit course will feature 11 GTP and ten GTD Pro entries.
There are no changes in the GTP class, which sees the same driver lineups from last time out at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, which was the site of JDC-Miller Motorsports’ breakthrough first victory with its Porsche 963.
Laurin Heinrich leads the standings as a result, 21 points ahead of Action Express Racing driver Jack Aitken.
Porsche Penske Motorsport’s Felipe Nasr and Julien Andlauer sit third on 1323 points each, 73 points behind Heinrich, who is due to miss next month’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen due to a clash with the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.
The GTD Pro class sees the addition of a second Vasser Sullivan entry, as previously announced, for Aaron Telitz and Chaz Mostert, who is set for his debut at the wheel of a Lexus RC F GT3.
Corvette Racing’s Nicky Catsburg and Tommy Milner lead the class standings entering the event.
The race is scheduled for Sat. May 30 at 4:10 p.m. EST with live coverage on network NBC and also on Peacock.
