After a weekend to forget in Sonoma Raceway, Jeremy Fletcher returned to the top of the time sheets in both Toyota GR Cup North America practice sessions Friday at Circuit of The Americas, in preparation for Rounds 5 and 6 of the season this weekend.

The Copeland Motorsports driver’s 2:28.901 lap time from the morning session held as the quickest of the day, a mere 0.003 seconds quicker than points leader Spike Kohlbecker of TechSport Racing.

RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate driver Will Robusto, who was second quickest in the afternoon session, wound up third on the combined practice results.

Ethan Goulart, in one of six cars fielded by BSI Racing, which suffered a transporter fire en route to COTA, was fourth quickest, while Speed Syndicate’s Max Schweid completing the top-five.

No major incidents were reported over the course of the pair of 30-minute practice sessions, which ran without any red flags.

However, numerous cars were given either warnings or drive-through penalties for track limits violations.

Qualifying for the first race of the weekend is set for Saturday at 9:05 a.m. CST, followed by Race 1 at 1:25 p.m. CST, which will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel as well as GRCup.com.
