Sven Mueller will make his return to SUPER GT this season with the Seven x Seven Racing Porsche team, eight years on from his last campaign in the GT300 class.

The Porsche-contracted driver will share the team’s No. 666 Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo with Kiyoto Fujinami for the eight-round season that begins at Okayama International Circuit in April, effectively taking the place of Harry King within the second-year squad.

Mueller last raced in SUPER GT back in 2017-18 with D’station Racing, scoring three podium finishes in that time together with Tomonobu Fujii.

Since then, the 34-year-old has focused primarily on GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, winning last year’s Endurance Cup title together with Rutronik Racing co-drivers Patric Niederhauser and Alessio Picariello.

“Sven brings plenty of experience from SUPER GT from his time with D’station, and I think he will make a great combination with Fujinami-san,” said Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific managing director Alexandre Gibot.

“He also has great momentum having won the GT World Challenge Europe title last year with Rutronik. It’s a great fit. He also knows the championship and the culture, which was very important in the choice of driver.”

Mueller will join Seven x Seven for this week’s two-day GT Entrants’ Association (GTE) test at Fuji Speedway, which begins on Tuesday.

Seven x Seven made an immediate impact in its first GT300 season last year with support from Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific, with Fujinami and King scoring victory at Autopolis and King finishing sixth overall despite missing two races.

“Last year was the foundation of the program, and the end of the season finished quite successfully with some podiums and a win, which we are very proud of,” added Gibot. “In the second year, we really want to take advantage of this foundation.

“We hope we can start the 2026 season in a similar shape to how we ended 2025. Our people have been working with the team for a year already, so we are confident because there is a lot of stability in the team.”

Along with the driver lineup, it has also been revealed that the No. 666 Porsche will continue to use Yokohama tires for the final year of open tire competition.

Seven x Seven has yet to reveal its full team structure, but will have a new figure taking over from Fujinami as team director, as the recently-revealed 2026 sporting regulations no longer allow full-time drivers to also hold the role.
