The Haupt Racing Team has entered into a new partnership with the Bundeswehr, the German Armed Forces, and will run a Ford Mustang GT3 in this year’s Nurburgring 24 in a special camouflage livery.
The alliance is focused upon recruiting new people to the Bundeswehr and there will be a ‘careers truck’ at the N24 between 14-17 May aimed at giving more information to those interested in potentially joining the armed forces.
As well as the camouflage color scheme, the Mustang will also carry the military message ‘MIT UNS DEN DIENST WAGEN’ (DARE TO SERVE WITH US).
No drivers for the Mustang have been confirmed but the team finished fourth in last year’s event with Dennis Fetzer, Jusuf and Salman Owega and David Schumacher at the wheel of one of its three Mustang entries.
The Bundeswehr livery is also set to appear during other Nurburgring Endurance Series events.
“The collaboration with the Bundeswehr is a great honor for HRT,” said team CEO Ulrich Fritz.
“Motorsport and the military have a lot in common. Both fields depend on commitment, team spirit, and technology. This is especially true for the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, where people and equipment are pushed to their limits.
“We are delighted to be tackling this challenge together and raising the profile of the Bundeswehr as a modern, attractive employer.”
