The prize package for the inaugural Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia season has been revealed, with Supercars test drives and international opportunities up for grabs.
Control tire supplier Michelin will support the Dark Horse Junior class prize that will see the tire giant offer an all-expenses paid trip to the U.S. to visit the Ford Racing Technical Center in Concord, N.C..
The winner of the Dark Horse Junior class will be hosted for two days at the Ford Racing Technical Center to experience its facilities, including simulators and mentors as Mustang Cup Australia positions itself as a genuine pathway in the Ford Racing system.
The winner of the Dark Horse Legends class will receive a 12-month lease of either a Ford Mustang or Ranger Raptor.
These prizes add to the previously announced test day with champion Supercars Championship team Triple Eight Race Engineering in its new Ford Mustang Gen3.
Plus, all entrants will fight each round for the Ford Insure Pole Awards. The fastest in every qualifying session will score a cool $1000 AUD, meaning that $12,000 AUD will be up for grabs across the six rounds.
“We’re excited to offer great prizes for the inaugural Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia season,” said series manager Liam Curkpatrick.
“Promoting a pathway for drivers by offering a money can’t buy opportunity to access the resources of the Ford Racing Technical Center in Concord.
“The 12 month lease alongside the Ford Insure Pole Awards and the Triple Eight Race Engineering Supercar test further solidifies the excitement surrounding the series.”
The Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia will open its season as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries at Phillip Island on March 27-29.
