Alpine Reveals Updated A424 for Final Hypercar Campaign

Alpine has revealed the livery for its revised A424 Hypercar ahead of its final FIA World Endurance Championship season this year, and also confirmed Jules Gounon and Charles Milesi as part of its driver lineup.

The French manufacturer announced last week that it will be quitting the WEC at the end of the season, but had already committed to making aero changes to the A424 for the new campaign.

These tweaks focus around an aerodynamic overhaul of the car to take away the negative consequences of the low-drag concept it had originally adopted.

Alpine completed the first test with its updated machine at the end of last month at Portimao and reported that the two days of track action passed “without incident.”

Images of the new A424 have now been publicly released for the first time and they show the car sporting a slight variation of its traditional blue colors.

As well as the car, Alpine also revealed – as predicted – that Gounon and Milesi will remain as part of its driver roster.

The duo have both been part of Alpine’s lineup since it entered the WEC’s Hypercar class in 2024, with Milesi among the crew to have taken the A424’s maiden victory at Fuji last year.

They join Ferdinand Habsburg and Frederic Makowiecki as remaining with Alpine, while they are now partnered by single-seater convert Victor Martins and WEC returnee Antonio Felix da Costa.

The departure of Mick Schumacher to IndyCar and Paul-Loup Chatin to newcomer Genesis gave Alpine the chance to shuffle its lineups but it has opted to continue with Milesi and Habsburg in the No. 35 A424 and they will be paired with da Costa.

Makowiecki and Gounon remain aboard the No. 36 machine with Martins slotting in alongside them.
