Winward Racing has revealed a two-car lineup for next month’s Gulf 12 Hours, spearheaded by team regular and Mercedes-AMG factory driver Maro Engel.
The German squad will field two Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos as part of a wider Middle Eastern program that will also include participation in January’s Michelin 24H Dubai.
Engel, who raced for Winward in both GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS and DTM, will share the No. 16 car with Sergey Stolyarov and Daan Arrow.
Stolyarov notably finished on the overall podium last year driving for Proton Huber Competition, while Engel won the event in 2023 when it still served as a round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
The sister No. 81 car, meanwhile, features the team’s regular GTWC Europe Bronze Cup lineup, consisting of Rinat Salikhov, Gabriele Piana and Marvin Dienst.
The Christian Hohenadel-led squad has one previous appearance in the Gulf 12 Hours to its name, dating back to 2019 when it was still known as HTP Motorsport.
