Sandy Mitchell will embark on his first full season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as part of Pfaff Motorsports’ full-time GTD Pro driver pairing.
The Scottish driver, who has been part of Lamborghini’s factory driver roster, will team up with incumbent Andrea Caldarelli for the full season.
Mitchell, who primarily raced in GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS this season, has four previous WeatherTech Championship starts to his name, including a maiden appearance with Pfaff at this year’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen.
Caldarelli and Mitchell will be joined by a rotating cast of co-drivers for the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, as James Hinchcliffe and Mirko Bortolotti join the team for January’s Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The Florida endurance classic will be the final time Pfaff runs the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2, as it will switch to the debuting Temerario GT3 starting at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
At Sebring, Franck Perera will drive alongside Caldarelli and Mitchell, with that same lineup then also contesting the season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans round.
