A trio of Ferrari factory drivers will spearhead Triarsi Competizione’s foray into the GTD Pro class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in January’s season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Announced on Tuesday, newly crowned Hypercar World Endurance champion James Calado will be joined by fellow FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar ace Miguel Molina as well as GT3 expert Alessio Rovera in the No. 033 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo alongside team regular Riccardo Agostini.
The No. 033 Ferrari is confirmed for the five-round Michelin Endurance Cup races next season, although drivers beyond Daytona have yet to be confirmed.
“This is the moment we’ve been building toward, and we couldn’t have asked for a stronger launch into GTD
Pro,” said team principal Onofrio Triarsi.
“Ferrari’s incredible support has made this possible, and being able to put this lineup together for our first Pro car is extraordinary. We have every reason to believe we can fight at the front from the very first lap at Daytona.”
Calado, who took part in the Endurance Cup races with the team this year in GTD, added: “[I’m] delighted to be returning to IMSA and the Rolex 24 with Triarsi Competizione.
“The new Evo is an absolute weapon. We have a proper lineup and we all have the same goal – we want that watch.”
The Florida-based team has yet to announce the lineup for its No. 023 Ferrari in the GTD class, which is also entered for the Endurance Cup season following a breakthrough class win last year at Road America with Triarsi and Kenton Koch.
