Lazare Quickest in Wednesday Practice at The Brickyard

Jesse Lazare led the way in both McLaren Trophy America practice sessions on Wednesday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in preparation for this weekend’s pair of season-ending races.
Lazare, in the No. 43 Motorsports In Action McLaren Artura Trophy EVO, reeled off a chart-topping 1:25.836 in the first 60-minute session to edge out Patrick Liddy in the No. 24 Forte Racing entry by 0.358 seconds.
The Canadian driver’s 1:26.228 lap time, which paced the afternoon session, would have been good enough for third quickest on the day.
The No. 919 Skip Barber Racing McLaren of Tommy Pintos ended the second session runner-up overall and quickest in the Pro class between the two hours of running.
The No. 5 Dark Horse Racing entry of Jeff Cook were fastest of the Am class contenders, thanks to a quick lap in Practice 2.
The opening session saw a red flag ten minutes in after the No. 812 RAFA Racing Club McLaren of Keegan Massey backed into the Turn 5 barriers.
Action resumed ten minutes later although there was a reported issue for the No. 18 Flying Lizard Motorsports entry of Canaan O’Connell on the final lap of the session.
O’Connell’s entry returned to action in the second practice session, with ran without any red flags.
Qualifying is set for Thursday at 9:30 a.m. EST, followed by Race 1 of the weekend at 2:05 p.m., which will be streamed live on SRO’s GT World and McLaren Automotive’s YouTube channels.
