Mercedes-AMG rose to the fore in the second and final test session ahead of the start of official track action for Saturday’s Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS, with the German manufacturer sweeping the top three positions.

Silver-rated Lin Hodenius topped the time charts in the 90-minute session, reeling off a 1:23.156 lap time in the No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to edge out the No. 34 JMF Motorsports example of Lucas Auer.

The No. 75 SunEnergy1-backed Mercedes-AMG, featuring NTT IndyCar Series star Will Power, was third on on the time charts, ahead of the No. 61 Earl Bamber Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R in fourth.

Kelvin van der Linde completed the top-five in the No. 46 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO, ahead of Wednesday’s pace-setting No. 51 Radom Vandals Racing BW and the No. 777 WRT BMW.

Regulator Racing was quickest in Pro-Am with its No. 91 Mercedes-AMG, which placed eighth overall, ahead of the Colin Bran-driven No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley entry and the No. 16 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3, which completed the overall top-te.

Dollahite Racing remained on top in the Am class with its No. 6 Ford Mustang GT3, which was narrowly ahead of the title-contending No. 163 AF Corse Ferrari.

Unlike Wednesday’s session that ran without any major incidents or stoppages, the second session was red-flagged with four minutes to go for an incident for the No. 61 EBM Porsche of Adrian D’Silca, ending early as a result.

Free Practice, which will kick off official on-track activity for the joint Intercontinental GT Challenge and GT World Challenge America powered by AWS round, gets underway at 6:55 p.m. EST.
