IMSA has released the 2026 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship entry list, currently featuring a total of 45 full-season entries and nine additional cars slated to contest the five-round Michelin Endurance Cup.

Announced during Thursday’s ‘State of the Sport’ address at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, the entry list represents confirmed entries without manufacturer designations, as several teams, in the GTD Pro and GTD classes, are still finalizing GT3 brand agreements.

It’s understood further entries are expected to be confirmed for the full season, as well as additional cars for the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona, which is again expected to feature a car count “north” of 60 cars according to a statement from the sanctioning body.

The biggest change in the 11-car GTP  field is the previously announced switch of service provider for the pair of factory BMW M Hybrid V8s, which will now be run by Team WRT for the full season.

Proton Competition, which has missed the final two Endurance Cup rounds in GTP with its Porsche 963, is not currently listed.

LMP2 sees a 12-car season-long entry with Team Tonis, which made its debut at Road America, set for a full-time effort with its Oreca 07 Gibson. They join the previously announced new efforts from Intersport Racing and Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen.

Both AF Corse and Riley are not slated to return to the LMP2 ranks next year.

GTD Pro drops from ten to eight full-season entries, with title contender DragonSpeed moving to the GTD class and Paul Miller Racing dropping back from two to a single-car entry with a yet-to-be-confirmed manufacturer.

Risi Competizione is set to make its return under its own banner next year, while Triarsi Competizione will step up to the GTD Pro class, also for an Endurance Cup-only program, alongside fellow enduro efforts from 75 Express and Manthey Racing.

Manthey and Triarsi will also be present in the GTD class for the five long-distance races, alongside the continued presence of AF Corse and Lone Star Racing.

As announced on Wednesday, Riley rejoins the GTD grid with a Ford Mustang GT3, while Van der Steur Racing will step up to a full season program.

Among the notable absentees include Forte Racing as well as long-standing Endurance Cup entrant Cetilar Racing.

Sportscar365 understands that several other teams, including Team RLL and Random Vandals Racing, could still be granted full-season entries pending confirmation from IMSA.

“Once again, the quality and quantity of cars and teams is on display for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season,” said IMSA President John Doonan.

“All of our GTP, LMP2, GTD Pro and GTD classes are highly represented. We know teams have a choice of where to race, and we’re thankful they continue to race in IMSA to provide the best possible sports car racing for our fans.”
