Bryan Herta Autosport will join forces with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports for its foray into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, it has been announced.

The team, to be known as Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports, will field the No. 52 Oreca 07 Gibson, with drivers yet to be confirmed.

The news comes a week after BHA was confirmed as the first LMP2 entrant for the WeatherTech Championship next year.

The Bobby Oergel-led PR1/Mathiasen squad, which operated Inter Europol Competition’s LMP2 team last year, is a five-time class championship-winning organization.

“PR1/Mathiasen has always taken pride in competing at the front of LMP2, and this partnership is built to do exactly that,” said Oergel.

“Bryan Herta Autosport brings depth and resources that complement our program.

“We have an aligned, high-performance team structure to contend for wins and a championship. We’re excited for 2026.”

Bryan Herta added: “PR1/Mathiasen has set the benchmark in LMP2 competition, and we’re excited to partner with Bobby and Lisa Oergel and their entire team as we make this step into the LMP2 category.

“We believe this program has all the right ingredients to contend at the front.”

The program will be operated out of BHA’s headquarters in Brownsburg, Ind., and comes amid increased rumors that Herta’s organization will run Genesis’ GTP program when it debuts in the WeatherTech Championship in 2027.

Logan Sargeant, who was initially announced as part of the Korean manufacturer’s ‘trajectory program’ in the European Le Mans Series with IDEC Sport, recently signed with PR1/Mathiasen for the final two races of this year.
