The Nürburgring 24 was restarted after a red flag due to a power outage in the pits lasted for over two hours, with the No. 911 Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3 R moved to the lead after pit stop penalties were applied.
The 53rd running of the Eifel endurance classic was stopped at 5:30 p.m. CEST (11:30 a.m. EST) when power to the pits was lost, which in turn caused the refueling pumps to stop working.
After power was restored, the race was restarted just over two hours after the initial red flag, with the No. 911 Porsche now at the head of the field as part of a reshuffled order.
This is despite the No. 45 Realize Kondo Racing with Rinaldi Ferrari 296 GT3 leading when the red flag was initially declared.
This is because, under the N24’s supplementary regulations, the accumulated minimum pitstop times are included in the result of the red flag.
This meant that the No. 45 Ferrari was dropped to fourth behind the Manthey EMA entry, the No. 33 Falken Motorsports Porsche and the No. 14 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
The No. 28 ABT Sportsline Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO took the restart in fifth, ahead of the No. 17 Mercedes-AMG and No. 34 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.
