Wayne Taylor Racing has confirmed its four-car Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America lineup, featuring new and returning drivers to the championship-winning organization.

Two-time Pro series champion Danny Formal will team up with series newcomer Hampus Ericsson in the No. 1 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, after previously contesting the 2024 with Ryan Norman, who is no longer part of the team’s roster.

Formal will again pull double duty between his full-season IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD class commitments in WTR’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

“It’s pretty awesome to be back with the WTR team again, with this amazing family in Super Trofeo,” he said. “Two championships later, a vice championship last year. It’s just been an incredible journey and I’m super excited. It’s going to be fantastic.

“I can’t really ask for much better than what we’ve accomplished, 22 wins and counting so far in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Pro championship. I’m super excited to start.”

Swedish driver Ericsson, meanwhile, will be making his North American racing debut after a season of Super Trofeo Europe that culminated with victory in the World Finals.

“I’m finally making my debut in American racing and to do it with WTR is a dream coming true,” said Ericsson. “One of the best, if not the best, Lamborghini Super Trofeo teams out there. It’s a huge honor to represent the WTR squad and to continue my journey with Lamborghini Squadra Corse.”

Nick Persing will line up in the team’s second Pro car, as a solo driver, making the move from the Pro-Am ranks where he collected six class wins.

“I know it’s going to be a challenge, but I am looking to try and take home some podiums and hopefully a few wins this year,” he said. “The level of competition in Pro is going to be extremely high, so this will be a year of growth for me, and I am going to try and evolve to the next level as a driver.”

Reigning Super Trofeo North America Am class champion Anthony McIntosh, meanwhile, will step up to the Pro-Am class alongside Brendon Leitch, following the pair’s Pro-Am World Final championship last year.

McIntosh claimed seven Am class wins from 12 races in the North American championship last year, while Leitch won the 2023 Super Trofeo Europe Pro class, among other accolades.

“I’m very excited to debut with Wayne Taylor Racing in the U.S., they are an iconic team in the USA and it’s a great opportunity,” said the Kiwi. “Tony and I have one goal and that is to win the Pro-Am title, continue where we left off at the World Finals last year.”

Glenn McGee and Graham Doyle complete the team’s lineup, teaming up together for the first time in the Am class.

McGee is a two-time class champion while Doyle will be entering his third season with the team, while also serving as WTR’s third driver in its GTD class entry.

“Over the past two years I feel I have grown, as both a person and a driver, and can’t wait to embark on another great season,” said Doyle. “Working with Glenn throughout 2024, and now driving together in 2025, is truly exciting.”

McGee added: “Along with an insanely strong roster of drivers we have on the team, I’m excited to be sharing driver duties alongside Graham Doyle, in the No. 10 DEX Imaging Lamborghini.

“Sometimes it’s easy to forget just how early he is in his racing career, and I’ve watched him continuously get faster and level-up at every race. I think with WTR’s support, we’ll be a tough car to beat in 2025.”

The Super Trofeo season kicks off at Sebring International Raceway next month.
