IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTP stars Renger van der Zande and Louis Deletraz are set to make cameo appearances in the LMP2 class in next month’s round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

LMP2 regulars Charlie Eastwood (Tower Motorsports), Paul-Loup Chatin (AO Racing), Mikkel Jensen (TDS Racing) and Paul di Resta (United Autosports) are among the drivers that will be unavailable for the July 12-14 round due to clashing FIA World Endurance Championship commitments at Interlagos.

The GTP class is not in action for the WeatherTech Championship’s annual trip North of the Border this year, resulting in LMP2 to serve as the headline category.

Van der Zande, who typically drives for Chip Ganassi Racing’s factory Cadillac effort, has been confirmed in Tower’s Oreca 07 Gibson alongside John Farano.

Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti driver Louis Deletraz is expected to be filling Chatin’s seat in the No. 99 AO Oreca with full-time driver PJ Hyett. A team spokesperson declined to comment when reached by Sportscar365.

United, meanwhile, will announce di Resta’s replacement in the No. 22 with entry next week, while Jensen’s sub is unknown at this time.

Tower Motorsports team principal Ricky Capone told Sportscar365: “We are happy to have Renger van der Zande onboard with us for Chevrolet Grand Prix at CTMP and are really looking forward to working with him.

“His accolades speak for themselves and we know he will do a stellar job for us.”

The two-hour and 40-minute Chevrolet Grand Prix, featuring the LMP2, GTD Pro and GTD categories, will also see changes at Heart of Racing Team, with Mario Farnbacher rejoining Ross Gunn in the No. 23 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo due to Alex Riberas’ full-time WEC commitments with the same team.

Harry Tincknell, however, is expected to miss the WEC race in Brazil in favor of his Ford Multimatic Motorsports duty in Canada.
